The index of the atlas's own subcategories, the finer groupings minted under a wider category so a reader is not handed one flat list of dozens of entries. It exists so the subcategory layer is browsable like any other part of the atlas; it excludes every entity that is not itself a subcategory node, and excludes subgroups, which have no page of their own and hang their facts off the parent subcategory instead.
