The Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam is a declaration of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, first adopted in Cairo on 5 August 1990 and later revised and readopted on 28 November 2020, providing an overview of the Islamic perspective on human rights. Widely described as an Islamic response to the United Nations' 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 1990 version affirmed Islamic sharia as its sole source of authority, a framing the 2020 revision no longer specifically invokes, and it guarantees some but not all of the rights set out in the Universal Declaration.
