All Revolutionary Events Since 1946

Revolutionary events from 1946 onward, including uprisings against colonial rule, monarchies and one-party regimes. An entry belongs here when its cited source describes a discrete revolution or uprising that took place in that period. The Cuban Revolution brought a revolutionary government to power in 1959, the Iranian Revolution of 1979 replaced the monarchy with an Islamic republic, the People Power Revolution of 1986 ended the presidency of Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines, and the Velvet Revolution of 1989 ended one-party rule in Czechoslovakia. The group concerns single events and takes no position on what the new orders later became.
