The Respect and Freedom Party, commonly known as the Tisza Party, is a conservative, centre-right, pro-European and populist political party in Hungary and a member of the European People's Party Group. It was founded in 2020 and remained a minor, extraparliamentary party until 2024, when the former Fidesz member and political activist Péter Magyar joined it in the wake of the Katalin Novák presidential pardon scandal and was elected its president in July 2024. It won seven seats in the 2024 European Parliament election and, in the 2026 general election, a two-thirds supermajority that ended sixteen consecutive years of Fidesz government. It has been the governing party since then.
