Pandemic!

Pandemic! COVID-19 Shakes the World is a 2020 book by the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek, arguing that avoiding further global catastrophe from the coronavirus pandemic would require a new form of what he loosely calls communism, a global organization able to control and regulate the economy alongside a global healthcare network, marked by a general shift away from market mechanisms. Žižek argues the pandemic is not only an invitation to a new form of global political organization but a call to rethink philosophy itself, writing that it demands a true philosophical revolution, and cautions against treating the epidemic as an event with some deeper hidden meaning.
