Il problema della guerra e le vie della pace (The Problem of War and the Ways of Peace) is a university booklet collecting lessons by the philosopher Norberto Bobbio, first published in 1979. The lessons are known for three images illustrating the condition of humans in the era of thermonuclear weapons: an open bottle with a fly flying inside it, a net holding a fish still alive, and a maze from which a person tries to escape, representing those who might stumble on a way out by chance, those who become more entangled the more they struggle, and those who try to reason their way to freedom.
