The Birth of Biopolitics is part of a lecture series delivered by the French philosopher Michel Foucault at the College de France between 1978 and 1979, published posthumously. In it, Foucault develops further the notion of biopolitics that he introduced in an earlier lecture series, Security, Territory, Population.
