The Cho Jung-tai Government is the cabinet-level government of Taiwan (the Republic of China), led by Premier Cho Jung-tai, who assumed office on May 20, 2024, as head of the Executive Yuan under President Lai Ching-te. The premier is appointed by the president without legislative approval, serves as the president's principal advisor, and presides over the Executive Yuan Council, presenting policy to the Legislative Yuan; the premier holds no power to withhold approval over presidential appointments and reports to the legislature only on his own activities rather than bearing direct responsibility to it, since Taiwan's constitution establishes the presidency, not the premiership, as the dominant executive office. This entity is filed alongside the existing Lai Administration entity as Taiwan's government-side half of a semi-presidential system in which real executive authority is divided, unevenly, between a popularly elected president and a subordinate premier.
