The Kim Jong Un Administration is the government of North Korea led by Kim Jong Un, who has served as supreme leader since December 2011 following the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, making him the third member of the Kim family to rule the country. He holds the top offices of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, President of the State Affairs Commission, Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission. Under his leadership the party's influence has grown relative to the military's, and his government has pursued a "byungjin" policy of developing nuclear weapons alongside the economy, conducting roughly 226 missile tests by 2023 alongside multiple nuclear weapons tests, while promoting a "people-first politics" departure from his father's military-first approach and an independent ideological system termed "Kimjongunism."
