Movements through which peoples or states coordinated across borders to advance shared political goals. An entry belongs here when its cited source describes a solidarity movement that spans several states and rests on a shared identity or a shared stance in world politics. The Pan-African Movement worked for the solidarity and political unity of Africans and people of African descent, and the Non-Aligned Movement brought together states that declined to ally formally with either major power bloc during the Cold War. The group covers movements of solidarity rather than programs of reform inside one state.
