Every standing political institution this atlas tracks as its own entity: political parties, legislatures, courts and constitutional bodies, central banks and independent regulators, electoral management bodies, and international or supranational organizations, organized below by institutional function. Belongs here: a named party, legislature, court, regulator, election authority, or intergovernmental body (the Labour Party, the Supreme Court of the United States, the European Union). Does not belong here: a specific administration or government in office at one time, which is a government entity, or the ideology a party espouses, which is an ideology entity.
