The Christian Social People's Party, known as the CSV, is the largest political party in Luxembourg. It follows a Christian democratic and conservative ideology, has been described as centre-right and is strongly pro-European, and it is a member of the Christian Group, the European People's Party and the Centrist Democrat International. It has been the largest party in the Chamber of Deputies since its formation and holds 21 of the 60 seats. Since the Second World War every prime minister of Luxembourg has belonged to it except Gaston Thorn and Xavier Bettel, and since March 2024 its president has been Prime Minister Luc Frieden.
