Abiy Ahmed Ali has served as Prime Minister of Ethiopia since 2 April 2018. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Ethiopian National Defense Force, serving as a military radio operator during the 1998-2000 Eritrean-Ethiopian War, and later worked at the Information Network Security Agency from 2006 to 2015 before entering parliament in 2010. He was awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to resolve the border conflict with Eritrea.
