Alix Didier Fils-Aime, born November 14, 1971, has governed Haiti as Prime Minister since November 10, 2024, and became the country's sole governing authority and de facto head of state on February 7, 2026, when the Transitional Presidential Council's mandate expired and its powers passed to him, leaving Haiti with no functioning president or parliament pending new elections. An independent businessman before entering government, he previously served as president of the Chamber of Commerce of Haiti from 2011 to 2016 and founded the internet provider Hainet, and was educated at Boston University. On February 23, 2026, Haitian political parties and civil society groups signed a pact recognizing him as the country's sole executive until elections are held, after the transitional council had earlier attempted, unsuccessfully, to remove him.
