Andrew Bonar Law, born September 16, 1858, in Kingston, Colony of New Brunswick, now Rexton, New Brunswick, Canada, and died October 30, 1923, served as Conservative Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from October 1922 to May 1923. He was the first British prime minister born outside the British Isles. Diagnosed with inoperable throat cancer, he resigned in May 1923 after only 211 days in office, one of the shortest premierships in British history, and died later that year.
