Brice Oligui Nguema is a Gabonese military officer who has served as President of Gabon since May 3, 2025, having first taken power as transitional leader following the August 2023 coup that ousted Ali Bongo and ended more than five decades of Bongo family rule. He was formally elected president on April 12, 2025, with over 90 percent of the vote in Gabon's first election since the coup, running as an independent under his own Rally of Builders platform.
