Gaston Alphonso Browne, born February 9, 1967, in Villa, has served as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda since June 13, 2014, and won an unprecedented fourth consecutive term in a snap election, sworn in on May 2, 2026. He leads the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party, has represented the constituency of St John's City West in Parliament since 1999, and has held the finance portfolio throughout his premiership, having earlier served as Leader of the Opposition and worked in commercial banking, including as a manager at the Swiss American Banking Group; he has twice chaired the Caribbean Community. He holds a bachelor's degree in banking and finance from City Banking College in the United Kingdom and an MBA in finance from the University of Manchester.
