Luc Frieden is the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, in office since November 2023 as leader of the Christian Social People's Party. Born on 16 September 1963 in Esch-sur-Alzette, he trained in business law in Paris, Cambridge and at Harvard Law School, and held a string of cabinet portfolios, including Justice, Defence and Finance, in successive governments under Jean-Claude Juncker between 1998 and 2013, before returning to head the government himself.
