Romuald Wadagni has served as President of Benin since May 24, 2026, after winning the 2026 presidential election decisively with more than 94 percent of the vote. He previously served as Benin's finance minister under his predecessor, Patrice Talon, and campaigned as Talon's chosen successor; his running mate, Mariam Chabi Talata, became vice president.
