Roosevelt Skerrit, born June 8, 1972, in Roseau, has served as Prime Minister of Dominica since January 8, 2004, making him the longest-serving prime minister in the country's history and, since late 2025, the longest-serving democratically elected leader in the Caribbean. A member of the Dominica Labour Party, he has represented the constituency of Vieille Case in Parliament since 2000 and has held ministerial portfolios including Finance, Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, and Foreign Affairs alongside the premiership, and has twice chaired the Caribbean Community. He studied at New Mexico State University and the University of Mississippi.
