Vasile Tofan, born July 12, 1982, in Valcinet, has served as Prime Minister of Moldova since July 22, 2026, after President Maia Sandu nominated him and Parliament elected him, succeeding acting Prime Minister Eugen Osmochescu. Before entering government he spent his career in the private sector, working as a consultant at Monitor Deloitte, a senior manager at Philips in the Netherlands, and a senior partner at the Kyiv-based investment firm Horizon Capital from 2011 until his nomination. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in public management from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
