The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) is a social-democratic party. Its leader Olaf Scholz was chancellor from 8 December 2021 to 6 May 2025, heading a coalition government with the Greens and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) until the FDP left the coalition in November 2024.
