The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is India's ruling national-democratic party. Its leader Narendra Modi has been prime minister since 26 May 2014, beginning a third term on 9 June 2024 at the head of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition after the BJP fell short of a majority on its own in the 2024 general election.
